Last year I was using the Coloring Book of Shadows Planner for a Magical 2019 by Amy Cesari. In this planner there were many suggested activities to help connect with the seasons and the wheel of the year. Imbolc is one of the “cross quarter” festivals marking the midway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. One of the activities for this festival was to fill out an elemental compass to guide you into the brightest and best version of yourself. The goal was to come up with a series of affirmations to remind yourself of your “true north” to guide you towards your highest self. For each direction on the compass there was a sentence stem to complete to make your affirmations personal.
In August, for Lughnasadh-the beginning of the harvest season, one of the activities was to revisit these affirmations and check in with them to see if you were still matching up energetically with what was written at Imbolc. Did the affirmations still feel relevant and true to your highest self? I re-wrote all of mine.
In order to further absorb and work with these affirmations I turned them into sigils. I loved finding that my affirmations had changed along with me over the 6 months between Imbolc and Lughnasadh and I loved creating a visual representation of these changes.
Here are the stems and my answers to them:
I know I belong – I am special in my importance (Imbolc)
I know I belong- I give and love and receive (Lughnasadh)
I know I am empowered – I can create life, stability, excitement, understanding (Imbolc)
I know I am empowered – I make loving choices and am supported (Lughnasadh)
I know I am brilliant – I can meander my way to the heart of anything that troubles me or anyone else I focus on (Imbolc)
I know I am brilliant – I can shine brightly in my love and high vibration (Lughnasadh)
I know my emotions – I trust them to guide me towards what my intuition is showing me (Imbolc)
I know my emotions – tears are the height of experience (Lughnasadh)
